Personality: Chance is a very skilled horse, though he is weary. His first assumption is to be scared of something before he even knows what it is, he is a guesser. He is a very sweet horse, not a mean bone in his body. Though he is spooky, he is easy to gain control of and take over. Davina has researched on how to fix Chance's spookiness into a horse with more confidence, but most say it can't be done, he is who he is. She hasn't given up hope yet.
When it comes to other horses, Chance is cheeky, he is quick to agitate, but then quick to submit once the horse is ticked off and ready to bite or kick him.
History: Chance was born in New Mexico on a racing farm. He was more flighty than the usual track horse and this caused an accident in his first race. He was sold at two to a cowboy who thought he could gentle the horse. The man did a good job in gaining control over the animal, but sacking out seemed to be an everyday process that you had to start from the beginning each day. He lost his patience and sold the gelding just six months later. A near-by riding stable bought the horse for a cheap price. The animal knew western and english riding so he would be a versatile mount. Several trainers and instructors worked with him. He never bucked, kicked, or reared once they were through, he was just weary.
Davina was interested in him as a lesson horse, even though he was just three. With the stable's help, a slow, fragile bond was formed between the two, and the girl wasn't afraid of falling. They entered their first show for the stable and placed well. Other riders rode Chance since he was a lesson horse, but he didn't try as much for anyone as he did Davina. Her family bought him for her when they found out she was coming to BRRA.
