Jude strode into the common room of the house he was currently living in, and took a look around the room. No one else was in there, even though there was tons of things to keep people occupied. A quick glance down at the watch he was wearing told him it was approaching seven, and he slumped down into a chair. He was waiting for Serena to meet him, and he knew that he could possibly be waiting a bit for her to emerge. His attire was something in which he almost never wore. A light blue shirt,which brought out the blue in his eyes, covered his chest and a white tee shirt poked out the top buttons. His pants were black and held up by a belt, and he wore brownish black dress shoes.

He was anxious for Serena to meet his parents, and never imagined this would be happening so soon. His last few girlfriends, they had been dating for months before introducing them to his parents. His parents had not been shy about voicing their displeasure with his choices either. His last girlfriend had shown up wearing the shortest, tightest black mini dress she owned and got belligerently drunk.

Serena was entirely different, Jude knew and he hoped his parents would recognize his choice as a better one. Sighing, he relaxed into the chair, waiting patiently.

Serena stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped firmly around her body and a towel around her wet hair. She still had an hour and a half before she had to meet Jude, and took her time getting ready. Her nerves were not butterflies but soccer balls in her stomach. Tonight Serena was meeting his parents for the first time. If Jude was anything like them then she was sure to like them. She wanted to make a good impression the first time round and she had gone shopping that morning. The dress shop in town didn’t have much to pick from but Serena had chosen a strapless purple cocktail dress that hung slightly above the knee. Her shoes were strap sandals with a slight heel. Serena had painted her nails a smoky, glittery black. Sitting down on the bed, Serena took out the hair straightener and took her time in taming the blonde locks that were hers.

Slowly, but surely the thick hair became straighter and soon Serena had achieved perfection with her hair. She slipped into the dress, and went to the full length mirror to do her makeup. Her eyeliner was black, and her eyeshadow a dark purple to match her dress. Serena still had half an hour, but she hurried in any case. On came her shoes, and she slipped her phone into the clutch bag, along with a few other necessary items. The clutch bag had the British flag on, and suddenly Serena hoped that Jude’s parents liked the British. Usually her accent became more pronounced when she was nervous. Leaving her dorm she banished any evil thoughts. Tonight wasn’t going to be like when she had introduced Jamie to her mother. It had been a disaster, as he had kept making inappropriate hints in front of her mother.

Serena entered the house where Jude was staying, and saw him in the recreation room. He was stunningly handsome, and he took her breath away. Well, she did have trouble breathing anytime she was with him that was for sure. She gave him a nervous smile and walked towards him. “Hey babe.”

Slinking down into the chair even more, Jude dozed off slightly. He had taken a small nap while Serena was out shopping, but the smallness of the nap could not replace the night he had not slept. Although he has lightly dozing, his thoughts wandered to the night ahead of them. The implications of Serena meeting his parents were serious. He was sure that his parents would love her, but he was still hoping things would go okay tonight.

Hearing someone enter the room, he opened his eyes slowly and spotted Serena walking across the floor. She was stunning as usual, and his breath caught slightly in his throat when the vision of her sunk into his head. She was wearing this breath taking purple dress and her blond hair was straightened down around and past her shoulders. She carried few accessories but those she did carry, complemented her outfit perfectly.

Smiling when she came closer to him, he stood and opened his arms towards her. "Hey beautiful, ready to meet the big bad parents?" He chuckled softly, and winked at her. "I'm kidding, they're going to love you." He remained standing, his arms outstretched towards her and a smile planted upon his face.

Serena watched as Jude rose. She walked over to him and laced her fingers through his. I really hope so, was her answer. Meeting any parents wasn't high up on her priority list, but then again neither was a relationship until she met Jude. Now that she was going to meet his parents, Jude meeting her mother was far less daunting. Well, depending on how well tonight went, her mother was a different kettle of fish.

Wondering when they were going to leave, Serena wondered how they were getting into town. More than once it crossed her mind, thinking she was overdressed, and then she would reprimand herself mentally. So when are we leaving? she asked, getting it over and done with.

"I'm telling you, this is going to be the easiest thing you've probably dealt with in a while.." He chuckled softly, and gripped Serena's hands firmly. Pulling her into him, he wrapped his arms around her into a big hug. He stood there for a moment, not wanting this moment with her to end. Everything felt so perfect, and now she was meeting his parents. It was definitely a little earlier than anyone probably expected, but he knew this was the right thing to do.

Smiling, he took her hands once more and looked down at her. "We are leaving very soon actually. I just wanted to spend a moment with you before we left.." Grasping her hand in his, he led her outside to where a shiny Ford Mustang sat waiting for them. "My parents always said I could have any car I wanted when I turned 18, and this is what I picked." Walking over to the black colored car, he opened the passenger side door for Serena, holding it open so she could climb inside.

Serena was semi-aware of her surroundings. In her head she was playing around with the various outcomes of tonight. In every one there was a 'what if...' popping up. To be honest, it scared the heck out of her. She had only met Jamie's parents a year into their relationship, and they liked her well enough. What if Jude's parents were the same? Her mind was constantly throwing out the worst case scenario's, but when it came up with a good one, it was good.

Serena felt Jude's warm arm around her, and she smiled. She just made herself a little taller, and kissed him. Why did have good moments have to end? It was now or never, and she had to meet his parents sometime. She followed him out to the parking lot to see a convertible. A Mustang convertible. She walked to the passenger side. Thank you, my good sir, she said, a smile on her face the whole time. For once she was grateful that she had put some gel in her straightened hair. It would mean that she wouldn't look like a frizzed up poodle by the time they got to the resturant.

Serena waited for the car to start. She wondered what music Jude liked, but would wait for Jude to put it on. Her own tastes varied greatly. She liked classical, as she played the flute and sang pretty well, but also the more modern stuff. Her favourites were stuff from the 60's and 80's. Queen and The Beatles. A memory flashed through her mind. Hadn't Jude mentioned that his parents were Beatles fans? Most likely, but they had usually talked about other stuff.
