Serena's sweet slumber was disturbed by some or other vibration. Knowing that it couldn't possibly be hers she drew the conclusion that it was Jude's. Quickly opening her eyes, she saw that his face was less than happy. What's up babe? Who was that? curiosity marred her vocals only slightly, and the rest was concern. She was hoping to spend the rest of the day with him, but if Jude had other priorities then so be it. They would be able to spend another day together.

Serena sat up again, staring with intent into Jude's blue eyes. She could quickly guess the reason he was so unhappy. That was your parents, wasn't it? she said softly. Though her guess was accurate, or she thought so, she didn't know the contents of the message.

Jude continued to stare out into the distance as the implications of the text resounded in his head. Should he invite Serena, and how would she respond to meeting his parents so soon? His parents were very open and caring people, and he knew they would love anyone that he did. Or should he just go alone? His parents would understand if he did not meet anyone worthy of meeting his parents. He wanted to spend the entire day with Serena though, and he was hoping she would agree to come along. A quick glance at the phone when he had it out told him it was approaching mid-morning.


Sighing, he noticed that Serena had awoken from her slumber and she was questioning him about the contents of the text message. "That was my parents actually.." He paused, thinking his proposal over in his head. "They made reservations at Blue Waters at 8 tonight for my birthday. They said I could bring along a guest, and that I and whoever I brought had to dress nicely." He rolled his eyes quickly, then spoke again.

"Soo.. can you come with me? It'd mean a lot to me, and I know my parents would accept you. They just want me to be happy. Although I understand if you are wary about meeting parents just yet.." He smiled brightly at Serena, giving her his best convincing smile.

Serena watched him, and saw that smile return. Course I'll come with you. I'd love to meet your parents. She said that as truthfully as possible, and it was so, but in the back of her mind she wondered if it was the right thing to do. She was hesitant enough that Jude would be meeting her mother in a couple of months, but she planned his parents into the equation.

She yawned again, and realised that if she wanted to be ready by tonight then she would have to shopping. Nothing her closet exactly screamed formal, and dragging along Jude would be plain torture for the guy. But she had to ask. How opposed to dress shopping are you? Naturally any man would shy away at the mere word of shopping, not to mention dress, but maybe Jude would be different.

Slowly she got up, and stretched. Who knew someone could be so stiff after lying on the ground for a few hours. Already she had in mind what she wanted to wear, but if she could find it would be a different story.
