As a reasonably large horsebox rolled to a stop in the carpark, two figures extricated themselves from amongst all their numerous belongings to tumble out onto the ground. Or one tumbled, anyway, the shorter figure getting his foot caught in a dangling strap and only narrowly avoiding a topple onto the floor. The taller boy snorted with laughter.
"Smooth, Ethan, very smooth."
He got an annoyed look in return, and his younger sibling proceeded to ignored him as he opened the small side door in the horsebox to check on the condition of the three horses within. "Artie's managed to get one of his boots off, Daniel," he reported, after a short pause in which Daniel occupied himself by having a few words with the driver - their father, after all, could hardly tear himself away from his precious business now, apparently not even to see them off to a boarding school. "But he seems fine. Flay's giving me an aggrieved look, and Miles is... half-asleep."
"Figures," his older brother commented as he stuck his head in between the door and Ethan's torso. "Sensible animal that he is. Come on, they'll be fine for a few more minutes and we need to go and announce our glorious presence to the school. Can't have them waiting in suspense any longer, can we now?"
As he spoke, Ethan was removing himself from the horsebox, and Daniel shut the door behind him again, before the pair of them made tracks towards the reception. One distinctly shorter than the other, and significantly different in the way they held themselves, it was still obvious that they were related, Korean blood flowing strongly through them and continuing their family heritage on into the future.
Daniel held the door open with an elaborate gesture for Ethan, who rolled his eyes, used to the antics of his elder brother, then went ahead and introduced themselves to the receptionist. "Good morning," he said, cheerfully and smoothly, natural charm imbuing his words. "I'm Daniel Kim, and this is my brother Ethan. We understand that we're supposed to report ourselves in and in return gain essential information for safe progress through this school?"
