Gustavo stepped into the classroom. Today would mark the start of his music classes. Theory and music history was the main class. After school would mark orchestra rehearsals, and private music lessons. He didn't know how advanced the students were, so he was planning to start at the very beginning of music notation. Beats, counts etc. He switched on the class room lights, and put his suitcase on his desk. Notes had been preprinted for the students. He sighed, he knew he was early and he would have to wait. So instead of being bored, Gustavo placed himself at the piano, and started playing Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Cara headed toward the music room, she was careful of how she walked as she was still sore from her fall from the high bar, but it was a pain she didn't let on to anyone else - she was still furious at herself for giving her pain away when she was in Stella's stall with Mr Cole.
As she approached the door, she could hear the piano. She still found it interesting that she could pick notes out of thin air when she was listening to music - even if a whole bunch of instruments were playing at the same time, she could pick out each individual instrument and play that peace. Walking into the room, she recognized the man sitting behind the piano as the instructor whom she had met the evening she had come in here to find some solitude.
With her olive pant suit, white shirt and tie, and the black leather satchel she carried, her obsidian coloured hair was swept back from her face and pulled back into a neat French braid which was then wound into a tidy bun that was held in place with a black hair-net and bobby-pins. From the back she could almost look like another teacher. Until someone saw the face of a child who seemed to be fading away.
Crossing the room she carefully slid into one of the front desks, she wore glasses but it was still easier to read the board from the front. It was funny but students who sat closer to the front were called upon less often than those sitting at the back. She opened her leather satchel and withdrew her music folder - which included a section of notation paper along with the writing paper. She also pulled out her pencil case and the decorative box that protected her glasses when she wasn't wearing them. Opening the pencil case, she withdrew a black, a red and a blue pen, followed by a lead pencil.
Putting her glasses on, she opened the folder. With the black pen she headed up the first page as she did any other subject folder; class name, tutor, duration, followed by any other notes that she thought would be necessary. All was written in her neat precise handwriting, the one thing she prided in herself - as she was one student who would never hand in an assignment printed off a computer.

Tommi Jo knew that even though she was here for horses she would still have to participate in other classes. It was that sad fact that had encouraged her to take music instead of drama. She was a natural singer and she'd had some amounts of professional training, but not much. She could read the staff and she knew her notes, but she wasn't good with advanced theory or sight reading. She had her messenger bag slung over her left shoulder and her long wavy brown hair was pulled back in a low bun. She sported a t-shirt and jeans as usual. As she approached the room she heard a familiar theme. It was Bohemian Rhapsody, a piano arrangement. She only knew that because her twin was obsessed with queen. She started to subconsciously hum the melody as she pushed the door open quietly. She noticed another girl sitting in a desk in the front and she gave her a shy smile. Making her way over slowly she looked at the girl. "Hey...I'm TJ..do you mind if I sit here?" She looked at the professor, still so wrapped up in his music she wasn't sure if he even noticed she had wandered her way in there. The music room was large, there were lots of instruments, guitars, cellos, the piano. TJ had always wanted to learn the guitar, but never had the chance and didn't really know anyone who could teach her anyway. She looked at the posters on the wall, famous musicians scattered about, she knew some an others escaped her, but she was eager to learn it all. After all that is what she was here for...learning..right?

Cara finished writing in her folder and capped the pen once more, then she placed the pens and pencil in a precise line across the top of her desk so that each was easily at hand whenever needed. Sure she was a little OCD, but that was just how she was. You think that's neat? You should see her half of the dorm room, even dust bunnies fear going anywhere near her things!
She looked up when she heard a soft voice, and so not to disturb the room anymore than the other girl's voice already had, she nodded her head. after all, the seats in the room were for any who wanted them, who was she to say who could or couldn't sit next to her? They were both early enough that the young mixed-breed couldn't be saving the table for another person who had zipped out to collect something they had left behind. for something like that to happen, the girl would actually have to have people she called friends or at least close acquaintances. The only friends she had, and the only ones she trusted enough to call friends, lived in the barns.
She wondered what the first lesson was going to be about, and she hoped that it had nothing to do with playing an instrument. Playing was something she did alone, and didn't like to show to others - she was still embarrassed that the teacher had been in the room when she had come in and played the piano that evening.

Serena's first thought was Oh crap, I'm late. Again. She had already been late for Drama, and she overestimated her time in the cafeteria. She hadn't been alone. She had Jude with her and obviously wanted to spend more time with him. She made a spectacular entrance into the class, but was happy to see that she wasn't late, but wasn't early either. Serena placed herself at one of the seats and quickly took her seat at a desk in the front of the class. She took out her space case, notation book and folder and placed it in front of her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~````````````````````````~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gustavo finished the last bar of music, and got up. He was surprised to see that there were students already. Greeting students. Welcome to the music class. I am Mr. dos Santos. To start off I will tell you the requirements for the class. Firstly, you must be able to play an instrument, or take lessons with me. Otherwise all the theory you learn is pointless unless applied. Also it makes it easier to learn the theory. He started handing out sheets. I require you to fill this out. It's for class use, so you don't have to worry about anybody else finding this. All that was required was some basic information. Name: Age: Instrument: Grade (instrumental): Lessons required:

Cara listened as Mr Dos Santos introduced himself to the class and spoke about the requirements. She groaned inwardly as the man handed out forms that they had to fill in.
She looked at the form before she selected her black pen Name: Cara-Jean Kitchi Age: 15 Instrument: The only instrument I don't play is the didgeridoo. Grade (instrumental): I play by ear and taught myself how to read music, so technically I have never had any formal tuition Lessons required: Possibly not.
She place the pen back on the desk as she read over what she had written, hoping that she wouldn't come off as a know-it-all and that the tutor had told the truth that no one else would read the form.

Callum entered the room quickly, unsure if he was late. It was only when he had heard the music he realized class had probably started. Music was the one class he felt confident in, he knew he could play well, and hold his own when it came to theory. For, once he didn't panic that the class seemed to consist only of girls. Callum had been worried he would stick out in his black jeans and tee. Sliding into a seat a couple of spaces away from the pupils that had already arrived, Callum saw the teacher had noticed him, and made his introduction. "Hi, I'm Callum, I am really looking forward to this class" Glancing down towards his desk, he read the sheet on his desk and filled it out easily using the biro which was commonplace in his jeans pocket. He was only concerned about one answer, Callum knew his official grade did not reflect his ability. Name: Callum Razamuth Age: 17 Instrument: Guitar - Electric and Acoustic, Bass Guitar and Drums. Grade (instrumental): On Electric Guitar I passed Grade 5 with distinction, but I didn't get the chance to go any further. I have not taken graded exams for Acoustic Guitar or Bass, but would say I can play those as competently as Electric Guitar. I have passes Grade 3 with merit on the drums. Lessons required: I think I would benefit from drum lessons, and any chance to improve my guitar skills would not be turned down!
Callum looked back up towards the teacher, wondering if he had written too much. He put the biro back in his pocket, then removed it and placed it back on the desk. Blushing he wondered if he should check if what he had written was ok. Deciding he should, Callum glanced towards the teacher again, "Is that wrong?", and managed to keep looking up. Music, he thought, I can do this well.
