Nick Names: None, she hates her name being shortened to Kat. Students call her Ms Keller.

Ethnicity: German, speaks with an accent but completely fluent in English.
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Cropped short blond hair, and sharp gray eyes, Katja comes across as a tomboy, and perhaps slightly frightening. She is usually dressed in dark jodhpurs, most frequently black, and dark long sleeved tops. In colder weather a sleeveless jacket and black fingerless gloves are added to this. Thin to the extreme, this is not a result of dieting or such, Katja has always been like this. Her height is around 5' 6", around average.
Personality: Katja is rather a tomboy, you won't ever see her in a dress or skirt. If she is going somewhere other than the yard, her hair is often spiked up in disarray. She is a kind, happy person - most of the time. The thing which angers her most is students disobeying her, or putting horses at risk. She has a bubbly, exuberant personality, and if something isn't to her interest, a limited attention span.
Background: Growing up in the countryside of Germany until 15 years old, this time was spent mastering the art of high-class dressage, training and competing up to a high level under a local dressage master. Although Katja loved, and continues to love, dressage, a move to England when she was 15 prompted her to improve her jumping skills, which quickly led to her becoming involved in Eventing. Getting several opportunities to compete at the 4**** level on other people's horses, and spending her time from leaving school at 16 until last month at a top Event yard, Katja passed all the BHS instructor exams, and purchased two young fillies during her time there. One is now 12yrs old, and a school-master for the lower-levels of Eventing, but still competing at higher levels with Katja. The other is 8yrs old, and competing at 2/3* Events at the time she left the UK.
Misc.: Left the UK after an incident happened to the Event rider who owned the yard where she worked (not involving her, I hasten to add!). With little money, Katja saw the job advertised at Blue Ridge for an Eventing Coach, and spend the rest of her savings bring herself and her horses out to the US.
