aughter tickled him as he entered the large White Oak barn. Jay was rarely inside White Oak barn as Question and Sandy were in Red Willow. Usually he was there to see Spencer or Melissa. But, now, he had other reasons. Now the barn held his two new additions. Cookie was bouncing excitedly around his feet as they walked, she had already met both Brynjar and Eydis and the three had hit it off. The young border collie had now seen the bay head of Brynjar and darted toward the curious gelding. Today, the new arrivals were to meet Jay's other equines. He knew that Question would accept them with open arms, Sandy was the problem. A frown flooded his features as he thought of the AQH mare. He sighed but then immediately cheered up when he saw the white cranium of Eydis. The mare was much more stand offish than her brother, but she was such a sweetheart. Her intelligent expression and gentle nature made Jay smile every time he saw her. Brynjar had a more in your face attitude at times, but was just as friendly. He reminded him a lot of Question. Before he approached their stalls, he scooped up their head collars. Brand new. Purple for Eydis, which stood out perfectly on her pelt, and Red for Brynjar. First was Brynjar, who lifted his head from Jay's reach briefly before thinking the better of it. He allowed his new owner to pull on the head collar, leaving his head hung over the stall door when Cookie latched onto the lead rope. Jay cracked a smile, the pair were already the best of friends. Then he moved to Eydis, who let Jay place her head collar on her with no protests. Her almost black oracles looked at him curiously, her maw lifting to press into his curly locks. Question also liked to do this, he loved the feel of Jay's dark brown hair on his sensitive skin. Jay smiled, pulling away when she lifted her maw from him. He gathered up the lead rope, opening her stall door and letting her walk at a leisurely pace. She walked on the right of him, allowing him to be able to let Brynjar from his stall also. The four walked slowly along the path toward Jay's pasture. He held the gelding's lead rope a little higher up than on Eydis's, as Cookie was attached to the end of the rope leading Brynjar with him. Before the pasture came into view, he heard the excited whinny sound from his little gray Welsh pony. He chuckled, and then turned the corner which placed them just meters from the fence line of the pasture. He saw that Question had been conversing with the horses in the pasture next to him, the three that belonged to the school principal. Jay found it unnerving to be situated right next to the principal, and that was unusual for him. But, Mr Rees was almost always busy and spent little time in the pastures. Jay had his eyes on Question, who looked a little offended to see Jay walking two new equines toward their pasture. But, he soon got over it and began to trot toward them. His smaller, broad cranium swung over the fence and stretched out to reach toward Eydis, who was closer to him. The mare took a step back, but her ears were perked forward. Her nares let out an unsure snort, causing Jay to coo encouragement to her. She took a step forward and pressed her muzzle gently against Questions. The Welsh Pony squealed in excitement, his frame darting off and he gave a playful buck. Jay smiled, and Brynjar returned his squeal. As Question trotted back to introduce himself to the dark bay gelding, Jay noted Eydis had her oracles on Sandy. The palomino was stood in the far corner of the pasture, glaring daggers at her owner. Jay shifted uncomfortably, noting his new mare did the same. He had no idea how she would react. But, there was only one way to find out. Jay hesitantly opened the gate to the pasture, keeping his eye on Sandy, who was now slowly approaching her master and new pasture mates. He undid the head collar upon Eydis first, but she stood rock still at Jay's side even when released. Brynjar bolted to meet Question who was half way into the pasture, his audits playfully perked and the pair immediately set off into a game, Cookie in tow. He watched the three as they darted around the pasture, careful to keep out of Sandy's way. He glanced into the neighboring pasture where Mr Rees's colt was cantering up and down the fence. His attention was quickly stolen by Sandy, who was approaching with her audits pinned against her neck. The mare snorted her agitation at Jay. Eydis pushed herself closer into Jay, making the boy stumble slightly. He didn't say anything though, his breath was held as the Palomino mare finally reached them. The taller AQH mare let her one audit lift forward briefly before pinning it again. She took another step toward Eydis, who returned it with a step back. It was like a dance. Sandy moved forward, Eydis moved back, Eydis moved forward, Sandy moved back. Then, both Sandy's ears perked forward, making Eydis relax and allowed Jay to take a deep breath. A sigh of relief flooded through him, his expression much more relaxed. Sandy took a less menacing step forward, her maw outstretched to press against the new mare's neck. Eydis stood still, but fear did not radiate from her as it had been. Sandy seemed satisfied and turned on her heels to retreat to the far side of the pasture again, pausing briefly to nip at Questions rump as he flew past. The gelding threw his hind legs at the mare, but missed. She had already gotten out of the way. Eydis had now settled to graze near Jay, who was sat against a large Oak tree situated near the front right hand side of the pasture. He had his eyes on the two geldings and Cookie, who were now chasing one another up and down the fence separating them and Mr.Rees's horses. He laughed as Cookie nipped at their heels, causing the pair to throw themselves into a faster pace. Sandy too had her eyes on the geldings, but her expression showed annoyance, not amusement. Eydis looked as if she couldn't care less. Her body now lumbering over toward Jay. She let her dome fall so her maw was placed into his lap. He ruffled her forelock and then ran his hands up and down her ears gently. It seemed to be soothing for her, her eyes closing and a sigh of contentment leaving her. You're such a pretty girl. he told her, smiling when she huffed her agreement. Her lower lip flopped as she became so relaxed she was nearly asleep. He continued to run his hands soothingly over her audits, his eyes on his two geldings and canine. Andie walked down the lane-way, Fallon's shod feet plodding softly on the grassed path that they followed. The mare was wearing a summer sheet over her damp coat, as they had just come from the showers. The girl? She was wearing her cheer uniform. She had been wearing jodhpurs when she was riding, but had got changed out of the hot clothes as soon as the opportunity arose.
You're such a pretty girl.
The sixteen year old's ears picked up the sound of a male in the pasture to their right. She knew that he wasn't talking to or about her, but she couldn't resist the temptation as she looked over at Jay. "Why thank you." She spoke up with a bright smile, a laugh in her voice. "You're not that bad yourself."

is oracles rolled as he heard the feminine vocals of Andie. Everybody knew Andie, head cheerleader and all that jazz. You're going to have to try harder than that to win my affections, Andie. You know I don't swing that way. He told her in all seriousness. Then his lips pulled up into a small smile. He did genuinely like the girl, even if she was a bit clichéd. I was actually talking to Eydis here. he told her, ruffling the forelock of the gray mare. She then pulled her cranium upwards while Jay picked himself gracefully from the floor. Question, who had now spotted the female and her equine, began to trot over to the fence. The bold little pony thought everyone had to be friends with him, no questions asked. He reached the fence, Brynjar just a little behind me, and reached out to lip at Andie's arm. Jay chuckled, looking over his shoulder to see the sullen Sandy watching from the far corner. He knew she would make no attempt to come near, she had done her socializing for the day. The boy began to study Andie's steed, his expression holding one of interest. New mare? he asked, knowing full well it was. This was just a conversational piece, now that Andie was around, Jay could offer her a, well, idea. He knew full well it would go ahead with, or without her, but the head cheerleader would be good to have as an alliance. Jay wanted to form the super group of the academy, Bigger than any other group which had graced the walls of their school. He, of course, would be top dog. And Andie, hopefully, would be second in command. His arms folded across his chest, and then his lips parted to speak once more. I have a proposition for you. he started, taking a couple of steps forward so that he was stood beside his Welsh pony. Eydis followed, the mare was obviously becoming like Jay's shadow. How would you like to fully take over the school. Now, I don't mean you have zero power now, because obviously you do. He ventured, glancing down to see Cookie slip beneath Question. But, his word hung in the air as he thought how to phrase the next part. He knew she wouldn't like to use fear to gain control, that would be Jay's job. How about an elite group, something you have to be invited to join. Let's face it, if you can dance, you're on the cheer leading squad. This would be strictly private. He finished, his hazel oracles on her. He had no sure idea how she would react, yet he knew she would have some interest in it. He then started on how you would have to act to be invited. You would have to be cunning, smart, ambitious yet not too much, be able to handle stress, and not have everybody's best interests at heart. This group should become your family, yet it should remain secret to all other students, at least at first. We don't want beggars or bribery to get into the group. And the privilege of choosing who would join would be for us only, Andie. He fell silent as he let her debate what he said, he undoubtedly knew she would ask how he would plan to do it, yet he would wait for that. Jay was nice Jay at the moment, but he could change at the drop of a hat. No, it wasn't mood swings. He did it on command, and luckily nobody was yet to cross him at the academy. If they had, Andie would know exactly how he would do it. He lifted his had to run it through his curly locks, and then shooed Question and Brynjar away, Cookie in tow. Now Jay stood watching Andie, his hands playing absentmindedly with Eydis's mane.[/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote] complete LYRICS;; Highway to Hell, AC/DC TAG;; Cara and anyone else who would like to join ^^ OUTFIT;; birthday suit WORD COUNT;; six-five-two MUSE;; okay, i suppose OTHER;; another ramble..[/ul]

Andie pulled a face. "It doesn't matter what way you swing, you'll always be pretty." She fired back playfully.
She rolled her eyes at his next question. "Yes, Jay, she is a new horse. I picked her up from the auctions. She had just started her western training, and I'm hoping to turn her into my next competition mount." She wasn't really in the mood for playful banter, so she made a move to walk on when his next words stopped her. A proposition? She turned back to Jay and walked closer to the fence that stood between her and his pasture as she listened to his plan. "I am way more picky than just letting dancers onto the squad!" She listened to the rest of what he had to say, and she nodded her head. "It sounds... interesting." She said slowly. "How. pray tell dear Jay, do you intend to bring this plan into fruition? And I am to assume that Spencer is in on the plan too?"

is eyes began to sparkle with excitement, she had bitten into the idea as he thought she would. He rolled his eyes at her remark about the cheer leaders, but let it go. He had better things to do than torment her. She then asked the exact question he had expected. Well, Andie dear, this is where you come in. You have many alliances around the school. I am more, well lets say disliked. Yet, nobody crosses me. You, Spencer and Melissa are the only three who have dared to taunt me. he chuckled, but her last question made him look at the ground sheepishly. No, not yet. He has no idea what I have been up to, but I don't think he would fully approve. His vocals were more hesitant this time, Spencer was the only person who had kept him from airing his ideas sooner. He changed the subject back to how he would do it. You would be able to enlist pretty much everyone in the academy, I can enlist the others. he told her, a sly grin appearing on his features. His part would be easy. Again, his attention was stolen by Eydis, who was snuffling at his face gently. He smiled at the mare, pushing her cranium away slightly. The question is though, Andie. Who do we ask to join us? He had an idea, yet he wanted to know what she thought first. He rolled his weight to the left hand side as he watched her. This could definitely be the start of a beautiful alliance ship, if not friendship. Andie frowned as he saw him roll his eyes. "It's true! I put the wannabes through a tough tryout before I decide on whether they can be in the squad or not!" Okay, she was a little defensive about the squad she had worked hard on molding into what it was today.
She fell silent again as she listened to him talking again, only taking her eyes off him as she asked Fallon to stop walking off - the mare knew that her pasture wasn't too far away and she wanted to be free. "Alliances and enemies." She spoke up with a nod. Her forehead creased a little. "I don't know about enlisting everyone. Where's the super part of everyone's a part of it? And I'm sure that you can twist Spencer's arm so that he will see things your way." She thought about the people that they could ask to join. "Davina would be a good option. She's opinionated and can be a total cow at times, but she's like me." Another name came to mind, but she thought she would wait and see how this worked out before she brought Cara's name to the surface. The young girl was super-smart, but she also had her faults. However, these faults they could use to their advantage. Yes, Andie was a little evil.

ay just looked at her, a slight smile gracing his lips. But, once again, he didn't offer any words. She was too easy to annoy. As he finished talking, his eyebrow rose. I'm not saying we should enlist everyone, I'm saying we could if we wanted to. The second half of her words made him narrow his eyes. I don't know. He's a little more.. well a lot more, kinder than myself. But, if we do go ahead with this, he will want to be part of it. He ventured, then lapsing back into silence to hear who she thought would be good for the group. As she spoke the name, his face crumpled with concentration. Davina, who was that? Then he remembered, she was the girl he had passed on the trails one morning. He grinned when he remembered how she had challenged him as he passed. She would be perfect, but she needs to be knocked down a couple of pegs. He tilted his cranium to the side as he thought of others to join them. His mind had carefully selected a few names. Okay, Spencer and Melissa. There would be no arguments on that front, where Jay went, they went. Adonia Mitchell, she's outgoing yet feisty. he started, then quickly listing off another few names. Ieuan Rees, principals nephew could be an advantage. Colin Grayson, He's freakishly clever yet not a people person. No chance on him giving us away. Serena Waldorf, Always gets what she wants and could be an advantage in that department. He fell silent as he watched a student pass them, casting nosy glances in Jay and Andie's direction. Run along please, you have no business in our business. he growled at the younger female, who skittered off. Anyway, Maximillion Carter. He said the next name with a little reluctance. This boy was related to Chuck Bass, the person Jay currently hated most. He offered no reason to why Max would be good for their group, he'd given up on that now. He would just list names and allow Andie to guess why he had picked them. Victoria Gibson, Graeme Donavan and Seamus O'Bryne. He concluded, glad with the group he had come up with. Is there anyone else you would like to add? He asked, his eyes following the girl he had just scared off as she almost sprinted back to the barns, causing Jay to chuckle. You can take Fallon to her pasture if she is getting impatient, answer me afterward. He told Andie, his eyes on the fidgeting mare. Andie's flawless forehead creased in concentration as she listened to Jay rattle off some names, the first few followed with reasons on why they would be good for the group.
She turned an narrowed her eyes at a student who was dragging her feet as she walked past them. "Yes, dearie." She added in an icy voice. "Get a move on." She turned back to Jay, and evil glint in her eye as the girl took off at a run.
Her eyebrows lifted as Jay went on with his list, this time the name didn't come with a reason. "You seem a little hesitant about having Max aboard, I assume it's his family tree that brings this hesitation? However, you had no problem with saying Melissa's name - remembering that she is the man's daughter."
Is there anyone else you would like to add?
Andie raised a finger. "Hold that thought, my sweet." She said with a sugar-sweet smile. She took her antsy mare down to the pasture and released her before walking back and jumping up to sit on the wooden fence, her legs swinging, ankles crossed. "I was thinking that we could enlist Cara-Jean. The girl is nothing short of being a genius, not that she'd ever admit it, but she has a few quirks that we could take advantage of." Being head cheerleader meant that she knew a lot of things about everyone that no one else knew. "We could shape her into the perfect machine. She remembers everything, and I have ways to make sure she tells no adults."

is lips pulled up into a sly smile, he didn't give her enough credit. She could be mean when she wanted to be, he had underestimated her, yet he wasn't bothered by it. The glint in her eyes was just conformation, this girl could be diabolical. He chuckled softly, then cutting off when she mentioned Melissa and Max. Melissa is completely different. For Max, they saying "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" applies, for Melissa it doesn't. he snarled at her. His defenses were thrown up now, his oracles narrowed toward the girl. He watched as she left to take her horse to the pasture, mentally trying to sooth himself. It was working, slowly. He needed to remind himself that he needed her on his side, not against him. Not that he wouldn't enjoy the squabble over who would be boss, Jay would win that he was sure. But things would go a whole lot smoother if she was with him. The girl hopped up onto the fence when she made it back to him, his sullen expression now gone. But, he wasn't as open and friendly as he had been before. She began to speak once more, offering up a name he hadn't expected. He rose an eyebrow in surprise, listening as she explained her choice. It made sense, and Cara would be valuable. You really are evil, aren't you? he grinned. She may not be as bad as himself, but pretty d**n close. They were to make a good team, maybe even excellent. He sighed in contentment, his plan falling into place before his eyes. The next question is, how do we go about bringing this lot together. They aren't people you would usually see hanging around with each other. How do we do it? He had a few ideas, a message on the bulletin board, approaching them. He glanced over his shoulder when he heard the approaching sound of hooves. Sandy had decided to, once again, grace him with her presence. She made a beeline for her owner, her audits pinned but her expression not one making him worry. She stood behind him, her chest bumping into his back. He stumbled slightly, but took no notice of her. Eydis, on the other hand, pinned her audits but made no move to the other mare. She seemed to sense she would be worse off. Excuse my bad mannered horse, she's got a few attitude problems. he told Andie, his vocals hinted with amusement. Andie pulled a face. "I'm not evil." she protested with a pout. "I just know how to work people to my best potential."
She thought over how to invite the others into this new clique. "How about we write out cryptic clues? Slip them into their dorms. Then the ones who work the clues out and turn up where they are told to, we know they deserve to be with us." She shrugged. Sure, she was talking credit for the creation of Jay's super group, but she wasn't going to give him the upper-hand.
She watched as his mare walked up to him and seemed to enjoy pushing the male teen around. She laughed as he apologized for her bad manners. "Hey, she obviously learns from the best." If it hadn't been for her years of being on a squad and in gymnastics, she would have fallen off the fence because she was laughing so hard. She sobered up as she looked at Jay, her face as honest as her next words. "And I apologize for my comment about Melissa and Max. I know that 'Lissa is nothing like her bio-dad. Max and Mr Bass? Yeah, not need to comment on that one."
