The bay tugged on his led nickering at the black mare inside of the pasture. The small, slight boy holding onto the big gelding smiled and opened the gate, leading the horse in and allowing him freedoom as the halter was unhooked.
Bush trotted away, then burst into a gallop, bucking and throwing his face into the wind, glorying in his freedom. Wes backed from the pen and let himself out, hanging the purple halter next to the red one on the gate.
Abby watched him for a minute, then the mare, tossed her head and heels, chasing the bigger horse down, maw bared for a playful nip intended on her dear pasturemate.
Wes chuckled, leaning against the fence, watching his two creatures enjoy themselves fully in the green paddock. So much green was unheard of to the pair, who were used to the barren desert of Australia. Ah, home. Wes missed the place dearly, but he was glad to be here. Jack and he would soon join the roping team, bringing possibly more fame to BRRA if they and their beloved horses were as good as they thought they were.

His flats squashed the green grass as he walked over the hill side, a puppy trailing his every move. He stared at his red shoes his hands shoved in his jeans and hoodie on his back the light blue hood pulled over his long black hair. He sweeped his long hair out of his piercing blue eyes as the line of fences came into view. Two horses came into view a bay gelding and a black mare. Jackson saw a boy at the gate Wes, long black hair like his own and dark eyes. The puppy fallowing Jackson took off towards the boy his nub of a tail wagging shaking his whole body. she was a small version of a fawn boxer with white on her stomach, feet and face. she looked up at the boy with a baby face his ears flopped over all cute like. A red collar snug around her neck a tag with lisence, a tag with his chip, a tag with rabies, and a tag with her name written. "DESSIE" written out in big letters with Jackson Roade listed underneath in smaller letter with a cell phone number listed beside it. Jackson slowly walked over to where Wes was standing and Dessie was sitting, her whole body shaking with excitement. "Hey Wes" He said with his cool voice just running off his tongue.

Footsteps and pawsteps were headed in his direction, and his dark gaze fell on the owner of the latter first. The puppy look boxer in origin, and simply estatic to see him. Despite the fact that there was the matter of the person following the dog to be attented to, Wes grinned and dropped to his knees, allowing the small dog to place her paws on his chest and lick his face.
His hands rubbed her back gently, kneading the soft fur covering her body, not a sound escaping him, just a smile that was rarely seen. Only animal brought it on. The boy's long fingers were spread over the dog, whose name appeared to be Dessie, their delicate and long build suddenly seeming to be brought to attention. Piano hands, they were called.
Wes looked up when his name was mention, his shy nature immediately returning. "Jackson." He greeted, meeting the stunning blue eyes for an instant before allowing his gaze to drop to the eyes of the puppy, who was gazing over her shoulder at the older boy.
The Australian could not explain his feelings at the moment. His observent nature had picked up on Jackson's nervousness, and he wondered why that feeling was present. But there also seemed to be an air of troubled sadness, something brought on from perhaps a dark event in the past. Wes didn't want to ask of this event, so he didn't prompt it.

Dessie licked the face of the new boy, she was so short compared to average boxer but she would so big after getting older. She loved getting petted and the attention that Wes was giving her was just what she loved best. She jumped down off of the boy running around in a complete circle before barking and taking off under the fence into the paddock. Jackson watched as the puppy took off away from Wes, his smile faded and that made Jackson sad. "You have a nice smile, you should smile more often" He said leaning his arms against the fence. He watched the boxer puppy run over to the two horses barking a greeting from afar before rolling over into the taller grass. Jackson looked down at Wes giving him a smile, "It's just us you don't have to be all serious"

He stood as the puppy ran off, watching as Bush pretended to be spooked by her and ran to his owner for comfort. Wes chuckled and scratched the bay's chin while the big horse buried his head into the fifteen year old's chest. The forse of the animal made Mason take a step back.
He blushed at the older boy's statement. "Mum told me that a lot." He replied, voice still soft as ever.
But Jackson's next statement confused Wes. Just them? He hardly knew Jackson, they'd only met on the trail. So he decided it was best to comb Bush's forelock with his fingers, as he often did when he was feeling nervous and extremely shy.
Abby lifted her head and strutted over to Jackson. She stuck her muzzle in his face and breathed out onto his face, as though making sure that he knew she was the top horse around here, and he wasn't to forget that either.

Dessie rolled around in the grass before popping up with on of her ears flopped over on top of her head looking dumbfounded. Looking over at where the horses took off to she got up and ran after them ducking under the fence line and running circles around Wes. The big bay went over to Wes and shoved his head into Wes' chest. Jackson couldn't help but laugh at him. The mare however came over and shoved her face in Jackson's. "Woah girl" he said stepping back from the mares face. He laughed showing off his perfect teeth. He stroked the mares neck letting his long fingers feel the muscles inside her neck. He looked over at Wes and he seemed nervous uneasy by his presence. "If you want me to go i will Wes, I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable" He said concern in his voice, really he was disappointed because he liked Wes a lot.

Abby nickered and flicked her tail, head lifted high. Woah? No one told her woah in her own territory. She huffed and turned around holding her banner high and her head arrogently.
Wes on the other hand simply shrugged half-hearted lift of his shoulders. "You don't make me uncomfortable... Just a little antsy. I'm no good with people." He replied, scratching Bush behind his ears and flipping his forelock away from his eyes. "That's why I'm so good with animals, I guess."
The boy did make him nervous though. He was extremely attractive, and with him being gay, Wes couldn't help but feel a little scared. Falling in love was always said to be a gay's worst nightmare... For the feelings were rarely mutual.

The mare turned herself around her head held high and her tail threw up into the air. Dessie put both her paws up onto the fence looking up at the large mare and she barked playfully at her. Her muzzle looked squashed but you had to admit the fawn boxer puppy happened to be beautiful. Jackson ran his fingers through his dark hair and sigh leaving his lips as he looked up at the lightly blue colored sky. He then looked down at Wes who was messing with the bay's mane, he looked cute just slipping the mane around in his hand. Then again when didn't Wes look cute. " Well i'm sorry if that makes you feel any better" he said looking down at his flats. Jackson had never been attracted this way to another guy, he had been bisexual ever since he was 13, but he never felt the same way about a guy that he felt about Wes right now. He wished he could get reach other and touch him but that would be too weird, Jackson didn't know if Wes was gay or straight.

Wes blinked, wondering why the words or sorrow had esceped the other boy's lips. "I'm the one who should apologize for my receding nature." He replied. "But, let's see if talking about horses makes me a bit more outgoing." He said, his voice still holding a bit of a quaver as he shot Jackson a grin. "Jackson, meet Bushfire. Well, meet him again. You saw him on the trail as well."
The gelding leaned over to nudge Jackson's hand for treats, flicking his black tail. "The female is Aborigene. She can be a bit of a drama queen, but she's an amazing cutting horse. Bush is still learning cutting, but he's got Trail down to a 't'." Wes informed Jackson, slipping himself suprisingly well into converstation. "And what about you horses? Any others besides that Thoroughbred gelding?"

He smiled as Wes actually started to have a conversation with him. Listening attentively as Wes explained each horse to him. He stroked Bush's muzzle as he nudged him, "Sorry i don't have any treats today" He said ruffling the horses dark colored mane. Then he looked up at the mare who seemed so sure of herself acting like such a princess. Then Wes turned the conversation in his direction. "I actually two thoroughbred geldings. The one you met was Barbo my gray dapple, and my other horse is beautiful Bay named Casey. they're both as sweet as can be, gentlest temperament in a thoroughbred that i've ever seen." he said with a chuckle.

Wes dug in his pocket and handed one to Jackson. "Here, he'll love you forvever." He smiled, wincing inwardly at the words. Jackson didn't realize the feelings blossoming in the younger boy's chest, the want to impress, the need of love and acceptance.
"They both sound like charms. I expect they'll be used for jumping, am I right?
Suddenly the mare nickered at Wes. In her maw was a big blue horse ball, and she was looking expectantly at Wes and Bush. The boy grinned at Jackson. "You wanna join us in some catch?" He invited, glad for Abby's interferance. He felt clumsy and awkward with his words at the moment, nothign good for a converstation. Bush had alrready started to trot off, looking back at Wes and his newly accquired friend.

If Jackson had known that Wes was gay he probably would have already made a move to kiss him. He felt a lot of feeling blossoming in those few moments around the horses. He seemed so cute right there by the fence side and Jackson couldn't help to fall in love with him over the last few days. He didn't want to feel rejection though, especially not from Wes. Wes, was like a new best friend to him here, while everyone hated him. All Jackson wished for was acceptance, and never got anything of the sort. He gave a smile to Wes, filled with so much meaning that Jackson thought he would never understand. He took the horse treat from Wes, his fingers brushing lightly against Wes' skin. Electric was the only way to describe it. He pulled back quickly a blush darkening his cheeks that he could only hope that Wes didn't notice.
He held his palm out flat to the big bay, he loved the feel of the horses lips against his palm. They were gentle yet they always tickled when they tried to eat from your hand. "Yea, Barbo is more of my big trail boy though and Casey is more of a show off so Casey get's most of the shows," Jackson laughed at his own words as he he watched the bay finally trot away from them, looking back at his master and friend. He looked over at nickering mare and then looked at Wes a look of confusion spreading across his dazzling face. "Catch?" He asked laughing at his own ignorance.

Wes nodded. "I can teach you how to ride Western Trail if you like, and get him into some events. It's good to keep Thoroughbreds busy with shows. They're busy horses."
He grinned. "Back home in Australia, I taught Abby and Bush how to play catch. They'll throw the ball to you, and you can throw it back. Trust me, it's not as boring as it sounds."
He vaulted his lithe frame over the fence and into the pasture, easily jogging out to the pair. Abby beckoned him a little closer, the threw her head up and tossed the ball at him. Wes caught it and looked at Bush. The gelding pricked his ears and pranced a little, side to side in an excited manner, lifting his slim legs high. Wes threw the ball a tad off target, and Bush bucked and chased it down as though he was a young colt.

Jackson smiled at Wes' offer. Of course it would have been nice to get Barbo into some events but he was more of a big dog than the showing type. It just didn't seem he liked to do that sort of thing. It was kind of strange for the Thoroughbred and he knew it, he had Barbo's Spell checked out by every vet possible everyone had agreed he was pure Thoroughbred and he was as healthy as he can be. "He isn't really the showing type, he just doesn't seem to enjoy it so i don't really push him into it. He's a strange boy but i don't mind." He said a smile coming across his soft lips as he offered Wes' one of his million dollar pearly white smiles. Catch? Jackson had never seen a horse that was able to play catch with a human. He watched as Wes' vaulted his small body over the fence. He shrugged as if to say what the heck and vaulted himself with the same easiness that Wes' had done it with. His feet made a thud against the grass as he looked around the little paddock, his icy blue eyes looking at Wes'."I've never seen a horse play catch" He said amazement glazing his deep voice. He watched as the mare through the ball at Wes' and then Wes' through it to the bay who ran after it with a buck. They seemed to enjoy the game too, which Jackson couldn't help but think was odd for a horse.
