Western Horse Training and Lessons

Tennessee native Giana Liking has been hired at Blue Ridge Riding Academy as a trainer for both horse and rider. She is licensed, young and willing-to-help young woman, whom was born and raised on a Quarter Horse, Appaloosa and Paint Horse breeding farm, and trained her first horse at the age of thirteen.

Ms. Liking offers a basic Western rail class for all stages of riders every Saturday at 3:00PM, that are open to the public. If you would like to attend, simply either send Ms. Liking an email, note or confront her face-to-face. Single lessons are only given for certain persons. Ms. Liking also helps owners/riders with troubling issues with their mounts anytime needed. Ground lessons, rail lessons, trail class lessons, and training sessions are available whenever both parties have a time block available.

LESSON REQUIREMENTS:
ALL LESSONS-

• Helmet
  
• Protective wear for both you and your mount
  
• Common knowledge of the horse
  
• Appropriate clothing and shoewear
  no shorts, tank tops, sneakers (tennis shoes), sandals. capris, etc. wear something you can get dirty.
  

GROUND LESSONS-

• Nylon or leather halter NO ROPE HALTERS
  
• Cotton lead line
  
• Cotton lunge line
  
• Lunge whip
  
• Basic knowledge of the horse being used
  

MOUNTED CLASSES-

• Appropriate tack
  
• I DO NOT permit nylon headstalls (bridles) or reins
  
• Spurs/crop if needed
  
• Basic knowledge of your mount
