Okay, as most (if not all) of you know, I am pregnant. However, not as pregnant as the midwife first thought. I went for a scan yesterday morning, and the woman who did the ultrasound said that they didn't think that I was more than 11weeks and 6 days(which makes me at 12 weeks today, the start of my second trimester). And since I was still so early, they couldn't do the measurement of the fluid on the back of the neck that they do between 12 and 14 weeks to check for the likelihood of the baby having downs or spina bifida. Even though the baby was still really no more than a blob (or a jellybean as Nigel calls the baby), I still asked for a disk of the scan photos. Here's the best pic there was: the head is at this end <-- and the butt is at the other --> I go for another scan Monday week, and this time the scan will be 3D so the pic will be better and the baby will also be bigger. Still too early to know what gender baby is.

Oh wow! I can see little legs and arms!! I can't wait for the other one. I feel like one of those shows where we get to track the development of a baby. It will be cool to see the baby get older and bigger though. Keep us updated!

Well, had a scan yesterday, and I can't get over how much baby has grown in 11 days!! In the first scan, baby was 4.3cm and yesterday, baby measured at 10.1cm that butterfly shape is baby's brain 3D scan The sonographer (lady doing the scan), did the neck measurement and said that it was "normal" so I shouldn't have any too much to worry about with baby having downs - which was the main reason for the scan. I however went and had a vial of blood taken anyway just so that they can be sure. My next scan won't be until April 11 or around then when I'm 19 weeks. But if I try and make it a week later, Nigel will be on holiday so won't need to ask for time off. At the next scan I should be able to find out of baby is a he or a she!!

OMG! I can't believe the difference! The baby picked up the pace! LoL. I never would have thought the baby to have grown that fast. That is a relief to here about everything being normal. I would do the same, just to be extra sure, even though I am terrified of needles and getting my blood taken. But this is so exciting. And you have got us all waiting, we wanna know what gender the babe is too.
I think the 3D scan makes everything look like some sort of clay or mold. That is very neat though. I have never seen a 3D scan before.

Wow! Much bigger. Who knew babies grew so fast? I mean, obviously someone can tell you, but when you see it in pictures it's amazing. I've never seen a 3D scan before, that's really cool, although it took me longer to spot the baby lol Glad everything's all normal, and am excited for you and Nigel in a few weeks time when you can find out the gender and such

I'm too tired to upload the scan pics from today, but I will let you all in on one little secret (which isn't that much of a secret since mum didn't hold back on letting everyone know).
The scan went really well, the baby's vitals are all good. The bones are all growing well and everything is in the right place... And I know what gender the baby is!!!

Oh wow, how exciting for you! I'm glad everything is okay and progressing well with your little one. Any chance of you uploading the pics when you get a chance? I'd love to be able to compare baby's size now with the last scan And test my skills and see if I can guess the gender! Maybe you should hold a quiz/game for us all and see who gets the gender right, hehe.

I'll upload the scans later on today. I was going to hold a poll and see if anyone could work it out, thus why I didn't mentioned anything in my last post, but I've looked through the photos and there aren't any photos that show off the gender of baby. We're going to have a boy!!
