Hello everyone and welcome to a new year at Blue Ridge! Dapples is running a wonderful auction, but I'm here to do all the boring stuff like tell you all the rules - I know Rules: Please remember that students can't own stallions. They must be gelded before or after the arrive at the academy if you buy a stallion at the auction
Students also can't own a horse under the age of 4 years.
Don't buy a horse you don't have the money for - yes, that's the money in your mini profile there on the left. You can however beg or borrow money from your friendly members if you find yourself short of cash, this must be done before you post in the auction though and go through your wonderful Admins - as we control the money.
Lastly, I have decided to change the way the auctions are run due to the new money thing. Rather than replying to the auction thread, I would like you to start a new thread with the subject being the Horse's number, you will post your thread of your character being interested. You will then need to wait a week, just in case someone else is interested. If no one else replies, Rissa or I will post as the auctioneer and do the whole SOLD thing. If there is another person interested, then at the end of the week there will be a coin toss and whoever picks the correct toss wins. It is NOT going to turn into a money war.

SHOW NAME:
Rainbows and Sunshine .
BARN NAME:
Appy .
AGE:
10 Years Old .
GENDER:
Mare .
COLOR:
Gray Varnish Roan .
BREED:
Appaloosa .
HEIGHT:
15 HH .
PERSONALITY:
Appy needs a job to do all the time , but not just any job ol' job you feel like giving her , but a job that she wants to do and trust me that isn't an easy pick . She isn't easily motivated to do much and can be a pain to get going , so forcing her to do a job of your choice is going to be a long and arduous task . Appy likes everyone , sometimes . She is a complex individual and as she get to know her you'll see that it isn't what she's trained in it's what she feels like . She may want to jump one day and be perfect but the next day she'll throw you every jump . Appy loves creativity . To keep her motivated you have to keep things creative and moving so she has something fun to do . The thing is you never work Appy to long . She likes short , quick workouts and can become moody and nasty if worked to long . Although Appy isn't always the sweetest mare nor is she easy to work with when it comes to picking what to do she is still a quiet , good mount for most riders . If you can find the job she wants , it will get done with enthusiasm and efficiency . That task though can be a lot hard then it looks though . You just have to remember a few rules with Appy . She likes creativity , keep a variety of jobs for her , and don't fight with her or you'll only make it harder for youself . A good push is okay for Appy but fighting with her will frustrate her . If she has had enough she'll tell you .
HISTORY:
Not much is mentioned about Appy's past live experiences due to lack of conections to her life . All the is currently know to this mare is that she was born on a stud farm , sold as a yearling , and trained by proffesionals for two years . She became a childs mount at five years of age but due to tempermental issues and being moody she was put up at this auction . Her owns even stated , "Appy isn't a bad mare at all , she's actually quite a lovely horse to have around . The problem is she can get fussy when the younger kids are riding her and we just can't have that with little ones abord her ."
DISCIPLINE:
All rounder , Western and English .

Mare .
COLOR:
Palomino .
BREED:
Quarter Horse .
HEIGHT:
14.3 HH .
PERSONALITY:
Slow , steady , and determined . A great childs mount ? Yes . Splash is your cute pony . Though she lacks temperment and would rather have a quiet day out . She doesn't do good with excitement or crazy new things . She's somewhat of a chicken if you ask me . She's the kind of horse who likes predictability without surprises , she likes to know she's doing the same thing every day and would be honored to do it every day not matter what . She just doesn't like changes and can get somewhat panicy about it . The best way to work with this mare is to stay in the box , don't over do things and repeat the lesson keep her comfortable and you'll get more .
Here are the few things to be careful about . Splash can't handle anything that will surprise her or a change in routine . Rush her she'll freak out . She doesn't like any of that and can become hard to work with . You just have to keep things simple and easy on her and she'll be willing to give more toward her owner the easier you make it for her .
HISTORY:
Splash was born on a small farm in BC . She was soon transported all the way over to Kentucky whe she was a yearling . Her training started at the early age of two and she was back when she was three years old . Training was kept light and easy due to how paniced she could get very quickly . Splash didn't last long there only for a few years before she was sold again to another person but that lady couldn't handle the mare either . Soon Splash ended up here in the auction house looking for a home she would stay in forever .
DISCIPLINE:
Dressage , Level one .

Backstreet .

11 Years Old .
GENDER:
Gelding .
COLOR:
Bay .
BREED:
Thoroughbred .
HEIGHT:
16.1 HH .
PERSONALITY:
Shy, suspicious, sensitive ! The way to ride Backstreet is to be solid and consistent in you riding with low expectations . Backstreets need good training plans without any step skipping for him to preform well . He want's a job he can preform perfectly each time and pressing him to do something he doesn't know can cause issues later on for you . He isn't wants open to trying new things . He can be a bit of a butt about it . While training you need to repeat each step till he really gets it but if things get to hard to handle for him he'll simply just leave – mentally , emotionally , and physically if possible .
Backstreet is a fine mount with a lot of potential just needs the right rider . He has fairly good training under his belt but he does have his training vices . Backstreet has learned that bucking is a way to evade something he dislikes , he has also become a nipper , and he'll back off if he dpesn't feel you're a solid enough leader he has a hard time trusting . So you need to be a firm fair leader with Backstreet and make sure he has daily exercise . The big training thing for him is you need to use baby steps , a safety circle . He'd be a good horse to take t othe top if you have the time and patients to train him .
HISTORY:
You wont believe it but Backstreet is the actual twin brother of Westy . They both grew up on the race track but sadly only Backstreet carried this career on . Backstreet later on became a retired racign champion and persued the career of an eventer because of his spped , balance , and love for jumping . He isn't for young riders or just learning riders at all , he's highly skilled in the Dressage field but can get rather panicy at any given moment .
Westy is a good horse though . He had amazing ground manners and will treat you very sweetly no matter what is happening . He doesn't bite , buck , or rear but he does bolt undersaddle . That's the only trainign problem that he really has is when he's scared he'll bolt . Westy is the horse to turn around and face the problem head on . He's to much a chicken to do so .

BARN NAME:
Bee .
AGE:
9 Years Old .
GENDER:
Gelding .
COLOR:
Dark Bay .
BREED:
Warmblood .
HEIGHT:
16.3 HH .
PERSONALITY:
To Bee it's all about the job no matter what the job is he'll do it , thoug he's more of a Dressage horse but he'll do whatever is asked of him . He's that steady , consistent compaigner that everyone wants . He'll do whatever and is rather laid back about it not one to get overly excited or overly overwelmed but things . He'd make a good school horse when and if that time comes . Though at the beginning he had trouble focusing on his work so he needs a good hand to sit and say "hey we're working now so get your butt in gear ." Bee does get bored easily though so a small bit of variety is nice for him , he enjoys nice long relaxing trail rides sometimes and is very quiet out and about . Not your typical warmblood . He's not hot at all .
You just have to remember the key rules with working with Bee . Keep him busy and give him variety , he likes to excel and the more he has to do the more he'll shine for you . Make sure you plan your program well with him or else trainign can fall apart easily with the gelding . If you have loop holes or rushing through training that opens up for him to make mistakes which he will . He likes a rider who will tell him where to go and what he needs to do next . Don't let him second guess .
HISTORY:

PERSONALITY:
High strung , just a little bit . Mareish , a whole bunch . Blue can be a rather pain in the butt to work with always having contant mood swings . One second she can be very sweet and loveable and the next second she can be bolting down the long side bucking like a mad women .
