You can start on the left or right barrel, but most start on the right, as the picture shows. If your horse knocks down a barrel, 5 seconds is added to your time. If the horse bumps it, but it stays upright, you will not be penalized. Make sure you wear appropriate gear. Boots, Jeans, and any color of western shirt, a hat is optional. Make sure you ride with roping reins (not split reins) and your western saddle and blanket fit securely and properly on your horse. Good luck! Pro-Barrel racing times are at an average from 16-20 seconds. Entrants:
