Make sure you wear the appropriate Western attire.
Make sure your horse is properly tacked for the event as well.
Your horse must remain behind the yellow ribbon until it is down after the calf leaves the cute. If your horse breaks the ribbon, you will get a 10 second penalty. You rope the calf as fast as you can and jump from the saddle, get the calf on the ground, and tie one front leg, and both back legs together. The calf must stay tied on the ground for 6 seconds.
