Dear Iestyn,
You do realise that, generally, annoying your teachers so much that they feel the need to look wary every time you raise your hand isn't a good thing, hmm? My brother, the teenage delinquent!
Anyway, started my new job here at Blue Ridge Academy, and have gotten a nice little suite into the bargain. Much as I appreciate Marge and Sam letting me bunk with them before the job sorted itself out, I'm really rather glad to be away. If I had to wake up one more time to find that their hamsters had escaped and I needed to catch them again, I really wasn't going to be responsible for the consequences. Who on earth keeps thirty-six hamsters?!
Other than, apparently, our aunt and uncle.
But I'm digressing: Owain and Megan seem to be settling in well, Owain managing to charm half the population of the school - students and teachers! - but then that's no surprise. And, wow, is this place big. And, alright, you might just say that that's my pathetic social skills kicking in - I know you, little brother - but I'm standing by my point. Students from all over the place, half of them with a string of about three horses. I'm really living it up with the rich, here, I can tell you!
Miss Carr, who runs the stables, seems to have decided that my primary purpose is riding all of the Academy horses that aren't being ridden by students, of which there are a lot. Most people seem to bring their own horses, and though some people ride both their own horses and a few Academy ones - this girl called Cara, who seems to be everywhere in the stables, being a prime example of this - a lot of them don't get ridden all that much. Which is where I breeze in. That is definitely the high part of the job - the mucking out stables bit isn't nearly as enjoyable, that's for sure, though at least I'm good at it.
Not much else to say, really (I guess I should send a few photos, next time) so it's time for me to ask you some of the questions. How are you doing? And I mean truthfully - I can tell when you're lying even through the written word, it's one of the skills you learn when having to keep track of a kid brother (joking, joking! You're far beyond a kid now... as you keep telling me). So I want the truth, here, or I'll worry even more. You are taking care to look after yourself, right, and taking your pills on time, yes?
Tell mother that I'll be sending in what I can off my next paycheck - should be most of it, as I'm getting bed and board here. And... give her my love, please? If she's in the right mood, anyway.
Best be off, now, as I need to walk Owain before I head down to the stables: no rest for the wicked, here, and I'm trying to make a good impression in my first weeks here!
Don't do anything stupid and stay safe, however difficult it may be for you,
Love Lee.[/font][/i]
