Full Name: Katherine Emily Carr
Nick Names: Kat
Student or Staff: Staff, Stable Manager and Riding Instructor
Age: 40
Race: Caucasian
Gender: Female
Pysical Description: I am slim with straight brown hair that comes just below my shoulders. you will normally find me dressed in a shirt and riding breeches with my long riding boots, unless I'm in the office then the boots will be off and I’ll only have my socks on. As the owner of a farm, I am always dressed to impress and even while working with the horses I breed, my hair will never be out of place
Personality: I am straightforward, and find no problem in setting people in their place if I see the need. With that said though, I am normally the first person that my students will come to if there is a problem. I take the responsibility of being a surrogate mother to all of my students very seriously and they know that what they say in my office will never go past those walls. I also take the job of being a solo mom very seriously and let my own children know that they can come to me with anything, thus the fact I am a solo parent.
Background: After spending the younger part of my childhood begging and pleading with my parents for a pony, I was finally rewarded with a sprightly welsh cob on lease and a member of our local pony club.
I continued riding throughout the rest of my younger years and gained many trophies and ribbons to all to my collection, as I rode not only my own horses but rode for other people as well.
Once I finished High School, I was pleased to be accepted into Yale where I spent the next few years gaining not only my bachelor in arts but a masters degree in property business and management and a degree in equine management, while continuing to train and compete my horses. While at Yale, I also met a charming young man named Peter Andual, we quickly fell in love and I gladly accepted his proposal for marriage.
We moved in together after finishing our university courses and it wasn’t long before I fell pregnant with my one and only child. There were complications during the birth that have stopped my from conceiving again. But that didn’t stop me from loving our beautiful children, Demeter and Dylan.
As Demeter grew, I noticed that Peter doted on the girl which made me happy, but as the years changed, I began to suspect that his “doting” was getting a little more than just paying her the normal father-daughter attention.
When Demeter was 6 she came to me after a riding lesson and told me that her father had done something that she wasn’t sure about. Two days after this, our divorce papers came through and the children and I took on my maiden name of Carr. As the house technically belonged to Peter, my children and I needed our own place to live – he graciously gave us the use of the house while he stayed with friends until we found a place of our own.
While I was reading through the paper one morning a job application seemed to leap out at me, a chance to manage a barn and teach riding. With my degrees behind me, I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to apply.
The children and I moved to BRRA a week later. The rest? Is history.
