Personality>> Jesse’s personality varies to who he’s with. With people he gets a good vibe from, he’s open and friendly and can be very excitable. He’s got a wonderful sense of humour and is a lot of fun to be around. Then, if he feels some sort of angry aura, he can change very quickly. He becomes cold and indifferent; falling into silence and not addressing anyone until the person he’s taken a dislike to leaves. Then, as if a switch has been flicked on in his brain, he switches back to his former self.
He is very loyal to those who have earned his trust, but it isn’t given out easily. He’s very wary with who he can turn to. He’s got a few trust issues after his last relationship and the bullying he suffered as a child, meaning that he’s cautious around almost everyone until he really gets to know them. He’s more withdrawn than he used to be, though he’s getting better. He does love company, and his job means that he gets to talk to different people each day. He enjoys learning about others, and is genuinely fascinated in the stories they have to tell. He’s charming without really trying a lot of the time, polite and well mannered. Like his mother taught him.
Jesse does have a very short temper though, and can become quite violent with others if they push the right buttons. He does know how to keep his cool around his job though, even if he does get ridiculously frustrated with some of the horses. His temper is explosive and takes a while to come back down from, and he’s very stubborn when it comes to apologising. He has to be forced to do so most of the time. With his temper though, he’s also very protective. If his friends are threatened, he doesn’t hesitate to jump to their aid. He’s fairly good at giving advice too, though he never takes his own. He should try that.
He is a lot more intelligent than he comes across. With his dyslexia, it limits the amount of ways he can come across as smart. His paper work takes him twice as long as it would anyone else, and he often has to restart. It frustrates him a lot, and he can have days where he gives up and throws it away angrily. He will eventually go back to it. When you hear him speak, you can see how intelligent he really is. He’s very articulate, and really knows his stuff when it comes to horses. He has a lot of people who come to him for advice, and he’s more than willing to give it.

Appearance>> Jesse is a handsome male with no clue what so ever when it comes to how he looks. He’s almost never properly shaved and his hair is usually left in the same state as he wakes up. Not a good combination when you have such curly hair as he does, making it look wild even when he does try to tame it. His hair is a very dark brown, almost black unless the sun is shining on it to give away its true colour. His most unusual feature would be his eyebrows, them being shaped as almost perfect triangles. They were a cause of much teasing as a child, but he took it in his stride and learned to love them. Jesse has big hazel eyes that almost always have a sparkle or glint in them, no matter what. It may be a happy one, angered or mischievous.
His build is toned, but it’s not obvious until he’s working or riding. He’s only about 5’7, though likes to tell people that he’s 5’9, and is very agile and sure footed. He moves with surprising grace that is usually overshadowed by his fashion sense. Or lack of. Jesse is a no hope when it comes to dressing himself, he’ll just throw on whatever is easiest. Usually t-shirts with holes or stains and years old jeans, sometimes jumpers that should be burned and boots that look like they belong in the bin. His mother has despaired with him so many times, but she’s just given up. There is just no changing him.
Markings>>
Large scar running all the way over his right palm; having caught it on a stray nail and dragged his hand over it.
Has another scar on his right shin from falling out of a tree as a child and catching it on a fence as he fell.
A scar on his left upper arm from a bite off a particularly angry horse who really did not want to be shod.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>>
Has broken his right arm twice, first time falling off a table as a child and the second time from a fall on a horse.
Had his feet crushed on many occasions by annoyed horses, now walks with a slight limp.
Has had his appendix out and his tonsils out.
Criminal History>> A few speeding tickets and has spent a couple nights in jail for fighting between the ages of 18 and 21.
Full History>> Jesse King was born to a small time rancher and his wife, with an older brother and twin sister, in Texas. They weren’t particularly rich, but they weren’t hard off either. His parents, his siblings and he worked hard. They had one of the largest cattle herds in Texas, and some of the best ranching horses were bred by them. They had people coming far and wide to buy them, and they never sold them for ridiculously high prices. They just wanted them to have good homes. Jesse worked with a lot of these horses, preferring to train them whereas his siblings liked the work. Yet Jesse wanted to do more, so he took up a farrier course and the rest was history. He made a name for himself quickly, and was only 19 when he qualified. Seeing the vacancy at Blue Ridge, he was happy to take up a permanent position that also allowed him to bring his horses.
School was a struggle for Jesse; he could never do very well and failed most of his classes. It wasn’t until he turned 16 was he diagnosed with having dyslexia, which frustrated the male no end. If he’d been able to get help earlier on, he would have gotten the grades he deserved. He also got picked on quite often, though he did have a large group of friends that stuck up for him, for his ‘stupidity’, being gay and for his lack of dress sense. He learned to grin and bear it, though he’s unashamed to admit that he still holds a grudge against some of the main bullies. As he grew older, he resolved his problems with his fists and got thrown into jail a couple of times for his behaviour. He became very frustrated and withdrawn for a while, only truly happy when it came to his work. With the mix of a bad relationship, he just couldn’t win. Only a few months ago did he really begin to pick up again, but he’s still very bitter.
As mentioned before, Jesse has not long come out of a rough relationship. The man was the love of his life, at least he thought so. They had been together since they were 15 up until five months ago. Jesse adored him, and thought that Gareth loved him too. Apparently not. Jesse came home early one evening from work to find Gareth in bed with another man. Jesse then learned that this wasn’t the first time, that Gareth had been cheating on him with various men for about three years. Jesse was heartbroken. What got to him most was that Gareth didn’t seem too bothered by it at all, he just left without an apology. Jesse saw him often around their town, always with someone new. This move to Blue Ridge is going to be a fresh start for him, allowing him to get away from what hurt the most. He just wishes it came around sooner.
We found love in a hopeless place
Pet Name>> Tokyo
Registered Name>> n/a
Age>> Seven
Species>> Feline
Breed>> Moggy
Registry>> n/a
Personality>> Tokyo is an absolute sweetheart. She cannot wait to crawl into someone’s arms and snuggle against their chests and is happy to be carried around everywhere. She adores company and will follow Jesse everywhere. She never bites or scratches, and will tolerate anyone. She’s an all-round lovely animal. She’s a very energetic feline, and has these mad rushes of energy where she just runs around like a lunatic, then calms and carries on as if nothing happened. Tokyo is an amusing little creature, that’s for sure.
History>> Jesse found Tokyo and three other kittens abandoned on the side of the road when he was coming back from school. Taking the four back to his parents ranch, he begged them to keep the four and use them as barn cats. They eventually complied, knowing they were going to have to get a couple of new ones after the last two had died of old age. Tokyo and Jesse formed a special bond, and she ended up being a house cat instead of an outdoor cat and hasn’t left Jesse alone since. The pair are inseparable.
