.Katya Sayers.
Full Name: Katya Elena Sayers
Nick Names: Kit - family only
Student or Staff: Staff - Cross Country Coach
House (if student): n/a
Age: 25
Ethnicity: American
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Physical Description: Katya is 5'6 and weighs about 130llbs. She is not skinny to say the least, yet she feels little pressure about her weight. Her body is, in her words, average. By no means is Katya without curves, but she is just about in proportion. She's not particularly fond of her thighs, but I guess you can't have everything. Her skin is naturally fair, although she is normally a little tanned from the nature of her work.
Katya's hair is long, reaching to just above her waist and has a natural wave to it. It tends to stay this way - curling or straightening it is usually disasterous. Naturally it is a rich dark brown, although again; the sun has tinted some of the strands a lighter colour. Her eyes are also brown, and are almond shaped. Katya's face is quite angular, the slavic profile reflecting her ancestry. She has one tattoo, a swallow in the middle of her back. She's had a few broken bones over the years from various horses, but fortunately no prominent scars.
Personality: The first thing that springs to mind about Katya is that she is extremely proffessional. She prides herself on being a good sport, and in the heat of a competition it takes a lot to get her angry. Foul play and rudeness is the easiest way to set her off. She's all about appearance. Her team has to look pristine - the best turned out always. She is very fussy when it comes to cleanliness, and being tidy is just second nature.
A positive thing about Katya is that she is generous. She doesn't like saying no, and tries to let down people as easily as she can. However, that doesn't mean to say she is a pushover. Katya knows talent when she sees it, and can be extremely pushy in order to get at it. She is extremely quiet about her personal life, and likes to keep her work and her social life strictly apart. Her friends would see a softer, more relaxed side to Katya; whilst when she's working she is orderly and on occaision, strict.
History: Katya was born in New York City to Elena and George Sayers; two business workers. She is their only child - despite attempts to have another baby after Katya was born. Until she was four years old, Katya lived with her parents in the apartment in the middle of the city. Her father; who did business in racehorses, was offered a job post in Kentucky, in the next town from Blue Ridge. The family moved into a detatched house and Katya began at the local school. Being a horse state, it was only a matter of time before she asked for riding lessons. On her sixth birthday she was given lessons as a present, and fell in love with the sport.
Katya's father was initially worried. He had seen some horrendous accidents with jockeys and didn't want his daughter going the same way. Fortunately for him, Katya was in love with showjumping, and when she was nine years old was given her first pony - Mouse. Together they progressed through the rings, earning firsts on the way. By the time she was fourteen she was in the showjumping team, doing well at school and was on her second pony, Storm. It was that Christmas Elena broke it to the family; she was having an affair. Her parents split, with her mother moving back to New York. Katya stayed with her dad in Kentucky, shaken by the change.
Katya attended Blue Ridge herself, being the best for equestrian in the local area. After she graduated, she took a course to be a teacher. She didn't enjoy it, and with a loan from her father, bought a couple of young horses and started showjumping again. She got onto circuits with one of them and was making a name for herself, when she had the accident with the lorry. On the way to a competition one of the horses broke the back of their stall, jamming the door. Katya had been the first to try and get the door open. Her boyfriend at the time eventually managed to get the ramp down, but the panicked horses charged out of the lorry, hitting Katya in the process. Trampling her, her prize horse ran out onto the road, to be hit by a car. The other horses survived, and Katya herself only had a couple of broken ribs, but the event had unsettled her.
She took a year out from horses, and got a job in the local tack shop. But she found she missed it too much, and bought an older, more sensible horse. Slowly regaining her confidence, she noticed the position for jumping coach had become vacant at Blue Ridge, something she used to dream about. She went for it, and got it, and has worked at the Ridge for a year now.
Misc.: can't think of anything!

.Opalescence.
Registered Name: Opalescence
Name: Opal
Age: 3
Species: Cat
Breed: Rag Doll
Registry: ACFA
Personality: Opal is highly independant. She prefers to be indoors curled up on a comfortable bed or sofa, and only ventures outside if she has to. She loves cuddles, but a scratch will be given if you handle her too roughly. Her favourite food is salmon, and she is extremely fussy. Despite her luxurious coat, Opal hates being brushed. She has no interest in toys, and dislikes Rarity.
History: Opal's mother is a highly ranked Rag Doll, and her father is also registered. She was one of their first litter together, along with three brothers and sisters. Opal was originally going to be kept by her owners, but Katya took such a shine to the kitten that they agreed to sell Opal to her. At nearly two months old Opal went to her new home with Katya and has lived with her ever since.
.Rarity.
Registered Name: n/a
Name: Rarity
Age: 6
Species: Dog
Breed: Saluki
Registry: n/a
Personality: Rarity is fussy, but not so much as her counter part Opal. She likes to be taken for walks if she's in the mood for it, which usually coincides with the weather being sunny. She hates mud, but loves rolling in sand, particularly in the sand school. She is reasonably low maintenance, other than being used to fed top class pet food and curled up on a plush bed or a horse rug, she has no other desires. She is not fond of the cat she has to live with, but puts up with her.
History: Rarity is a purebred Saluki, although not registered. Her mother's owner had bred her with another Saluki, in order to sell the puppies. As soon as Rarity was old enough to be weaned she was sold to a family. As much as she enjoyed her time there, when her owner became pregnant - the dog had to go. She was four years old at the time. She went to the local petshop where she was spotted by Katya, who took her home; where's she's been ever since.
