.Maximus Paul.
Full Name: Maximus Jean Paul
Nick Names: Maximus or Mr. Paul
Student or Staff: Staff - Dressage Trainer
House (if student): N/A
Age: 24
Ethnicity: European Caucasian
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Physical Description:
Maximus had a young appearance, which of course, is due to his age. His hair is a natural mixture of ebony and auburn strands, though most of the time he just dyes it one or the other, depending on how he feels. His features are somewhat chisteled due to his European heritage, yet his accent is strangely American, considering he was born in France. His eyes are a hazel color, often changing from chrystal blue to a seafoam green. He is tall and thin, averaging roughly six feet tall and around 170 pounds. He has a long torso and his legs are equally as lengthy, making him appear somewhat bird like if not covered in his usual jacket and dress pants, though occasionally he does wear jeans.
Personality:
Maximus is very edgy and nearly always mad at the world. However, sometimes he's nice just to be nice, though these episodes are rare. When he's dealing with work, he's very professional and nothing else. His motto is, "I'm here to make you a better rider, not to be your friend," and he'll say it quite often, especially if there's whining involved. Maximus doesn't take kindly to quitters and, despite his hard tone, he is a lot nicer to beginners than he is to those who are more advanced in his discipline.
He knows that sometimes, friends are good to have, so he's not always rude and angry. He can be quite nice, especially if you can make him smile or laugh. Despite popular belief, he really isn't a bad guy and can actually smile (even though frowns and scowls are often placed upon his features). He's not afraid to be honest, even if the truth will hurt. He won't lie to save you from heart ache, to say the least. Feelings are expendable to him and often change, so he feels the need to always be honest despite the consequences.
History:
Maximus was born into a rural lifestyle and always has been around horses. However, as a child, most of these horses were large Belgians and other draft breeds used to plow fields or bring crops and livestock to market. He learned at a young age that death is inevitable, even if it's sometimes cruel. He was also taught to live life without regrets, hence his truthfulness. His father was always scolding his son for lying, another reason his honesty probably came about, for he himself was taught honest ways.
When Maximus became a teenager, life was quite simple. He still lived on his family's farm with his brother and two sisters, all of who shared chores and helping with the animals and crops. Maximus placed himself in charge of the horses, mainly so he could spend time grooming them and just being around them, for he found peace in their quiet, gentle ways from the loud yelling his siblings always emitted when they were around each other. It was in these days that he realized he wanted a career with these beings.
At the age of seventeen, Maximus' father died, leaving his family struggling to pick up the pieces and move on with the farm. It was hard, especially while grieving to still making a living. However, they managed and soon were back in a regular movement. When things were well again, Maximus spoke to his mother about his dream of working with horses. She, of course at first, didn't understand why he didn't want to work the farm like his father had. Never one to back down easily, he kept explaining and begging her to understand. When she finally gave in, the near adult packed his bags, said his good-byes and left.
His journey lead him to a Dressage farm nearly fifty miles from his home, surprisingly closer than he expected. However, he didn't find things as easy as he had hoped them to be. He was forced to start working by mucking stalls and grooming horses, rather than ride as he wanted to. Despite this, Maximus was happy just spending time with the Friesians and the Andalusians that frequented the farm for training. Finally, after nearly a year of hard work, the boy was finally allowed to ride. He was placed upon a wild stallion of no known origin to test him to see if he had the balance and grace worthy of a Dressage rider.
Granted, this wasn't the easiest way to prove himself, let alone the most modern, but Maximus was able to hold on. As soon as the stallion stopped, the seventeen year old patted him on the neck and rode over to the trainer. The older man only smiled and nodded and it was then that his extensive training began. Maximus trained for five years in Dressage until the untimely death of his trainer. Maximus heard about Dressage becoming more and more popular in the United States and decided to head there to train more, as well as share his knowledge with the growing number of riders.
Misc.:
He is a US citizen despite his recent arrival to the country and quickly picked up the English language, though sometimes he does speak in French when annoyed or angry.
Face Claim/Playby: Matthew Bomer

Registered Name: Make Your Move
Name: Piaffe
Age: Five
Species: Canine
Breed: Australian Shepherd
Registry: Australian Shepherd Club Of America
Personality:
- Very Obedient
- Dislikes Being Touched By Strangers (will shy away)
- Growls Only When Threatened
- Intelligent
- Level Headed
History:
Before being place with Maximus, Piaffe was a show dog of sorts. He never went higher than local dog shows due to his nasty habit of being shy and not liking strangers touching him. So the breeders moved him on to agility training, thinking that maybe since no one had to touch him, the canine would excell a lot faster. No, quite the opposite! Piaffe (then named Sir Charles) didn't have the drive most of his breed have. He simply laid down or shyed away from all the noise of the crowd, depending on how popular of a show they were at. It was this that set the breeders off and made them decide to sell him. He was meant to be a simple pet, nothing more, nothing less. However, Maximus saw him as a training aid. When horses or riders wouldn't give their attention, Maximus taught Piaffe to bark on command. The dog learned quickly and loved having a job that required him only to sit in the middle of a corral or arena and do nothing unless asked.
