Personality: For the most part, Tie is a relatively well behaved stallion. He may be placed around mares and as long as he is well watched over, he behaves like a true gentleman. Around other stallions, he is still known to be very cross, however, as long as a firm hand is nearby, he is perfectly manageable. Towards people he is very loveable, affectionate, and sweet. He’s the kind of horse that nickers as soon as he sees just about anyone walking down the barn aisle, and is always nuzzling and poking around for treats. He’s a true prince inside the crossties and is always studious when being clipped. However, a rider with a firm hand is needed to ride him correctly. It’s not that he is spooky, or purposely aggressive, he is just young, athletic, and excitable. He is known for adding a few hardy bucks after a particularly large jump, or trying to take jumps still a good stride away, but he only needs to be reminded that there is in fact a rider still on his back, and he comes back well enough.
History: Tie was actually a gift from Danny’s mother; his birthday present given to him the same year she married Benjamin, when Tie was still a gangly, young stallion, flown in from Europe. Danny had owned several horses before Tie, though none quite as beautiful, proud, talented, and not to mention expensive as Tie. When Danny and Fiona moved in with Benjamin, Danny had been forced to sell his two pretty French Saddlebreds he had been learning off of for the past several years, a devastating blow to add-on with the new step-father. Fiona, seeing her son’s displeasure with the new marriage, figured he needed a new horse, and a young one that could be trained, to keep his mind occupied. It surely worked. Danny fell in love with Tie the moment he laid eyes on him. Even though Danny, at the time, had not been skilled enough to train him all by himself, the two immediately clicked. A trainer was hired to help train Tie, but Danny insisted that he help. Though he was not the first to jump Tie, he was the first to ever sit on him, the first to learn all the things that made him tic, and all the things that made him settle. The two were fit together like the parts of a well-oiled machine. There was no question that Tie would follow Danny to school.
