Okeii Our project this term is to write about what i love and obvs im doing horses so yeh i want to get a high level 7 maybe low level 8 soooo i need some help how should i do this?: Word Document + Slide Show Of Me Riding With Music While Im Talking + The Video Of Me & Lew. Orrrr Word Document + Powerpoint (where i can put the vid of me & lew on there aswell) Anddd do you lot think this is a good start: Why do I love horses? Well for me that is a fairly easy question to answer and if i was going to write about everything about why i love horses well by the time im finished reading it would be time to go home so I’ll just say one thing, because horses will do literally anything to please you. HELPPP I DUNNO WHAT ELSE TO PUT! thankies

Please Note: This is just my opinion, from what I have learned through classes, no one has to agree or anything =] I won't be too upset... lol. No worries xD
Okay, no videos. It distracts the audience from you. It's like the video is giving the project for you. I say, word document, and a power point with pictures is the perfect idea.
Also, no music. At is will distract the audience too much. And don't use too much annoying sounds. Like, if every time you change a slide and it goes "ka-ching" that gets pretty annoying. Stay away from that. They should just be able to hear the joy in your voice as you talk about what you love.
*A hint on the pictures make sure the main object points into the screen, not away from it. As it draws the attention away from the picture.
I am in a college speech class (also giving speech on horses but I am doing 'Join-up' and Round Pen Reasoning by Monty Roberts and John Lyons =]
Very nice beginning, but i think your sentence is a little long xD You can totally blow this away, but I think (just my opinion) i would re-word it like:
Why do I love horses? Well, for me, that is a very easy question to answer. In fact, if I told you everything I knew and loved about them, we would be here till it was time to go home. So instead, I want to share with you all the most is that there is such a strong bond bewteen horse and rider, they will do practically anything to please you.
Sorry :/ people always ask me to edit/ critique their papers for them. I think it's fun, I enjoy doing stuff like that. But I was just trying to show you ways you could make that one really long sentence into neat multiple short ones =]

Ohh... sounds really cool! I had to do an english project my last year of high school and had to make a topic, debate on it by myself, add the 'pros' and cons' of the topic, and, in the end, manage to persuade the teacher over to my side of the arguement. I, of course, chose possibly the hardest topic ever... equine slaughter. Wouldn't have been that hard if I hadn't had to persuade the teacher to be for it, as I'm pro-slaughter...
Anyway, perhaps you could explain just why horses will try as hard as they can for their riders? Talk about the bond between that of the horse and rider and mention how horses don't care who you are or anything, how they can, at times, be better friends than regular friends... tell about how a horse is both a companion, a friend, and a creature that you can talk to about anything and they'll listen... a confidant.
Don't just tell about you... talk about horseback-riders as a whole, try and find statistics, mention things such as the riding programs for the mentally disabled/physically disabled... tell about the joy that horses bring to children and adults alike.
Hope that helps... sorry for writing a bit much.

I know slaughter happens, and, I know it is necessary for the horse industry to survive. I have seen some really aweful pictures though. The animals are stunned, of course, but I just wish it was a bit more humane. But I believe it has to happen to keep the horse market good. PEDA is so stupid sometimes.... sorry off topic xD

I think Rissa and Diaz have said it all. My only advice, don't turn your speech into a debate. Remember that you are talking about why you love horses, by the end of your speech you will have people who will still not have heard a single word you have said - nor do they care. Be passionate about what you talk about, but not pushy.
Mentioning the RDA is an awesome idea too, talk about how anyone can give up their time to help out (or at least we can here).
