Aunt and Uncle,
Hey, bet yall didn't expect to hear from me once I left, huh? No matter, I just thought it would be nice to send you two a quick letter (uncle, stop rolling your eyes... aunt, hit him for me, please...). Anyway, not much has gone down up here. North is doing fine. No, I still haven't gotten him gelded. I'm not sure if I really want to since he's a great stallion.
As far as my job, it's going great! Being out here in the field is nothing compared to college classes. It was a little overwhelming at first, and yes, I slacked off a bit during the first few days, but now things are settling down and I'm figuring it out. Oh, and Jakk is doing great, though I'm betting that he misses your home-cooked chicken meals you gave him every night! He's getting nothing but dry dog food now.
I don't really have much more to say, so I'll let this go for now and when I have more to write... well, expect another letter in a few weeks (yes, that means that I'm going to keep in contact with yall).

Aunt and Uncle,
Sorry I haven't written in a while, things got a little busy and exciting. I did get North gelded, by the way. He's slowly recovering, but it will be another week or so before he's back into riding-shape. Hopefully he doesn't get lazy.
I'm thinking about looking around for another horse, but I really don't know if I truly want another one just yet. I'd really like to search out and see if I could find one of North's get later on, but who knows.
Aunt, I'm very sorry about having to cut our lunch off so early a few weeks ago. I had forgotten that a student had called and scheduled a counseling appointment. We'll have to try and meet again for lunch sometime.
Do you two remember my friend Delilah? Well, I know uncle will. If I remember correctly, uncle, you never much liked her... though you never much liked anyone who I befriended. Anyway, she's here. Here at Blue Ridge! I couldn't believe it! We had supper at the restaurant the other night.
