Do horses understand English language? - Keep that question in your mind as you read the following.
My parent's farm is 51 acres, and all the fences on it were put up by my step father. The paddock that my horses are currently in had two gates to start off with, but recently, Bruce created a smaller pig paddock at the top of the paddock, removing one of the gates.
To get into the horse paddock, I either need to walk all the way down to the back fence and climbing over the man-made gate, or walking through the pig paddock. Going through Daisy's (the pig) paddock is fine, as long as she's eating. She about the size of a minature horse and weighs probably twice that of the horse. She's a little scary.
I feed my boys every morning, and if I've forgotten to collect the beuckets the night before, I have to climb into the paddock to get them. I will quite often say. "You know what? It would be really nice if I could come down and find both buckets on the fenceline - the fence is far enough off the ground in a few places to pull the buckets through.
Why the question? When I went to feed the pigs tonight, not one but both of the buckets were next to the fence. One on my side of the fence and the other up against it so I could just pull it through. My babies are so clever!
