Shine a light through an open door

House>>
Gender>> Male
Sexuality>> Homosexual

Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Sage is a playful and quirky man, usually very easy going even when he's annoyed or angry. He's high energy and very curious, always on the move, always trying to figure out how something works and what makes the things around him tick, telling him to sit still is like taking a five-year-old to a toy store and telling him to keep his hands in his pockets. It just doesn't work out for anybody.
He has a tender heart when it comes to love and would be willing to give the shirt right off his back to anyone who he thinks would need it more than himself, always willing to give what little he has and take care of others. However when it comes to people taking care of him his attitude it quite the opposite. Sage has a strong pair of legs and a sturdy back, and he believes in working hard in exchange for things like a roof over his head and food in his stomach and isn't quick to accept charity without doing something to first earn it.
Many people call him a hippy, he's a strong supporter of words before violence, human rights and freedom of choice and deeply against things like prejudice, the mistreatment of animals and oppression....what?! He just wants to do what he can to make the world a little better.
Likes>> Cross country riding, backpacking, camping, kayaking, photography and a home cooked meal. He also enjoys crafts like hemp-braiding, knitting, wood- whittling and leather tooling because they help him relax and calm his mind.
Dislikes>> Formal gatherings, hot and dry climates, onions, kids who talk big but couldn't stand up to an old woman, tramps of both genders and driving.
Fears>> Sage is terrified of hospitals and can't stand getting trapped in a crowd.
Hopes>> To settle down and hopefully attend a part time collage.
Secrets>> His childhood abuse and the fact that he never finished high school are both things he keeps very hush hush.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Sage is doesn't think much of himself when it comes to his looks. He has a lean and athletic build, though he's not overly muscular. He stands at about 5'11 and has a pale complexion that no amount of sun could ever tan with youthful cheeks, full lips and bright blue-gray eyes. His hair is a thick, untamable, curly/shaggy mop and molten mixture of just about every shade of brown you can think of that always seems to have some sort of fly away lock.
His smile is shy and slightly crooked and he typically dresses very modestly in sweaters, jeans, heavy boots and simple t-shirts. He doesn't like things that constrict his movement or showing off his body or the wears of your everyday 'cowboy' including tucked in shirts, cowboy hats and boots large belt buckles. They just feel cheesy and look silly.
He likes simple bits of natural, handmade jewelry like leather wrist cuffs, lengths of braided and beaded hemp, and wooden ear plugs.
Markings>> He has a black and white tattoo of an old, gnarled tree on his back to cover a few scares that he's not too proud of and has his ear lobes stretched with size 10mm plugs.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Sage broke his shoulder when he was in his early teens. It's healed, but it still gives him fits of being sore and stiff every now and then. .
Criminal History>> Er...yeah...he's had a few run-ins with the authorities in his time for things like vandalism, disturbing the peace, and all round being a hooligan.
Full History>> Born at home on a sheep farm in northern Ireland Sage had a fairly normal start to life. He was an only child and attended a very small local school while his mother took care of the home and his father worked both as a mechanic and a farmer. It was his mother who introduced him to horses as a toddler, she would take him riding along the hillside in the afternoons and calm, leisurely trots nestled between his mother's torso and her old mare's neck eventually turned into the two racing across their family's land on their own mounts with the wind whipping at Sage's face and the sound of his mother's laughter ringing in his ears. It may sound corny, but he was always very close to his mother and he cherishes the memories of those simple pleasures because they didn't last forever.
Around the time Sage turned 10 things started to get hard in his peaceful little home. His father got hurt at work, damaging his leg when a lifted car rolled forward, it kept him from being able to work and their income suffered greatly. Sage's mother had to work two low paying; long hour jobs just to help make ends meet and his father fell into a depression that the man tried to cure with alcohol....
Mr. Murphy was abusive as a drunk and he took out his anger on his son in more ways than one.
When Sage turned 16 his parents divorced and went their separate ways. His mother moved to Wales and he lost contact with his father. Although Sage didn't follow his mother, he ran off and struck out on his own, jumping from place to place and for nearly four years he was without a real home.
It wasn't until he turned twenty that he chose to scrape up enough money to buy a passport and found his second passion in life; Traveling. He's backpacked all over Europe and even a few parts of Asia, doing odd jobs in return for food and occasionally a bit of cash.
He's only been in the states for a few months, but he's hoping to make his stay here at least semi-permanent.
We found love in a hopeless place
