Cara was reading a textbook as she headed down to the barn. She had found an extra thirty minutes that she had nothing planned for, so she felt that this was a great time to come and take Ember out for a walk. The mare's leg was healing nicely, though the girl still ripped herself up one side and down the other about the mare getting injured in the first place - it was one thing she didn't think she would be able to forgive herself for.
She closed the book as she entered Red Willow and stopping off in the tack room, she left the book in the mare's locker. She then headed down to Ember's stall. "Hello beautiful." She greeted the mare softly, even though her voice never rose above a whisper at any time, as she took the mare's orange-red halter from the hook by her door, let herself into the stall and slipped the halter over the mare's nose and fastened the poll strap. "How's that leg doing?" She ran her hand down the mare's silver shoulder down to the fetlock of her left foreleg. There was still a little heat, but nothing to cause worry. "Let's go for a walk." She rubbed the large pony's forehead as she clipped the lead onto the halter ring and pushed the door open before leading the mare out.
They walked gently down toward the door, the girl allowing the mare to decide on their speed. She knew that allowing the mare to graze on the grass that grew around and between the barns would help elevate the mare's mood as she had been a little gloomy since she wasn't allowed to run in the pastures. "Steady, girl." She whispered as the mare shied to the side as they drew closer to the door and the shadow of someone coming the other way cross their path.

McKayla is starting to get use to the things happening around here, at the Academy. It isn't as stressful being the new girl as she thought it would be. Yet it is still a pretty busy schedule. She had a bit of a break before heading back off to class. She thought about checking Tucker. She hasn't spent much time with him (free time wise), besides at classes. She bunched up in her jacket from the winds of the season before heading over to the barn the gelding was boarded at.
As she walked over, she looked at all the color changing leaves of Autumn, before glancing up to the sky. It got cloudier by the moment. She can tell it will rain later in the weeks by the grey skies. She let out a deep breathe, hoping it wouldn't rain right at this moment. She only brought her coat, that is only helpful to keep her warm. Sadly it wasn't sturdy enough like a rain jacket to keep her dry. She spotted the Red Willow barn in view as she turned her head back in the direction she was walking towards.
When she arrived at the barn, she saw a familiar structure, with a mare, just outside the barn. She then finally approached the girl and then finally recgonized her. Yes, it was the girl who was in gymnastics. She then snapped her thoughts back to reality. "Um.. Hi, you're on the Blue Ridge, gymnastics team right?" She asked, just to make sure she wasn't just thinking of someone else. She really didn't focus on who's in gymnastics, since she has just joined.

Cara steadied the mare and Ember tugged on the lead once again as soon as she had worked out that just because there was shadow didn't mean that there was a monster hiding in it. Once outside, the small girl allowed the mare to rip at the grass that was growing around the flower beds - while she wished that she had more layers on - pleased that she had left the silver dun's stable rug on.
As the mare grazed, Cara took the chance to observe the people around her. She didn't however notice the approach of another student and jumped as she was spoken to. She bowed her head to the girl who had spoken. "I am." She replied with a ghost of a smile. "I am Cara." Before she got a chance to say any more, the mare yanked on the lead as she wanted to get to more grass. Not happy about having her arm almost pulled out, Cara gave the lead a tug back and nodded when the pony turned to face her, ears pointing to either side as she lowered her head. "Are you hoping to join the team?" She asked as she stepped forward and rubbed the mare's forehead, accepting her apology and then leading her over to some more lush grass - what was left of it anyway with the impending approach of winter just around the corner.

McKayla frowned at the weather. She really wasn't a fan of winter, unless there was snow. Yet there would rearely be snow out here in Kentucky. Unless they got lucky. She disliked the cold weather and how she might have a greater chance in getting some kind of cold or sickness. She sighed as she can tell winter was about to approach, sooner of later. Yet first of all, she had to get through the rainy weather later these weeks before she can focus on remembering to wear warmer clothing when she's out here.
She looked over to the girl as she made her jump slightly from her speaking. She listened to her as she replied to her question. "I am." and adding her name, Cara. Oh yes, she heard that name around. She then remembered how the coach adressed her by her last name, Kitchi. "Nice name, Cara.. I'm McKayla. Sorry if I might of spooked you a bit." She replied with a kind apology. She glanced down at her horse before back up at Cara as she asked about wanting to join the team. "I guess so, getting the opportunity to join the team would be great.." She gave a nod and a reply towards her question. "Lovely little mare too.." She commented with the smallest, and shyest of smiles she has ever given. She has enough time to give a few minutes of small talk to her, before she gave the rest of her time towards her gelding. He can wait.

Cara wrapped the arm that wasn't holding the rope around herself, the temperature was dropping and she didn't know how much longer she could remain out here. She then felt guilty for the thought as it was her fault that the mare couldn't be grazing out in the pastures.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, MaKayla." She replied, even though she hadn't said it, the Miss was still in her respectful tone. "Coach Hoefflin may seem really tough, but he is a good coach." And that was the truth, he may seem to always be yelling at them, but he wasn't nearly as hard on them as her past coaches had been.
She looked at the mare as she was complemented and silently agreed with the girl, the mare was lovely. "Thank you. She is owned by the Academy. I was riding her a couple of weeks ago and she had an accident with the jump we were approaching and got injured." She gave the mare an apologetic look. "Oh, I'm sorry, you must be on the way to see your own horse."

McKayla grinned at Cara, from her friendly response about how it's a pleasure to be meeting her. It was a great time bumping into the girl in the first place. She was a really reasonable person. "Thanks, it's a pleasure to meet you too, Cara.." She gave a small grin. It didn't take long to get use to Cara. She was already use to her the first time they brought up a small little conversation. She listened to her comment about the coach. "Coach Hoefflin may seem really tough, but he is a good coach." She now learned how to prounce the coach more formally. Not that she didn't know how.
She glanced over to the mare as she grazed while she heard Cara reply to her comment about how lovely the mare was. She looked back at her as she gave her attention towards Cara. She listened to her as she spoke about her being owned to the Academy, and how she got injured. "Aww, at least she's alright now, and so are you.." She hoped that sounded as a reassuring comment, which she meant for it, and not some mean or picking on kind of thing. She's not known to be a bulley. "Oh, I'm sorry, you must be on the way to see your own horse." She looked over to her and just shook her head, as if to shake it off. "Oh, it's alright.. It's much more fun to talk to you, my gelding can wait five more minutes.." She reassured her and gave another small smile.
